Floors Castle Events 2013

Floors Castle Horse Trials

Saturday 18th - Sunday 19th May 2013

Run over the glorious parkland in front of the Castle, Floorss Castle Horse Trials is a key venue in the Scottish equestrian calendar. Visitors to the event will not only be treated to an array of equestrian spectacles, with dressage, showjumping and cross country all running simultaneously throughout the day, but they can also enjoy a walk around the cross country course, which spans from the Golden Gates down to the Tweed and along to the parkland just south of the Terrace Cafe. There are a number of tradestands to browse as well as a number of catering points.

£10 per car

Cross Country Schooling - Must be pre-booked

Monday 20th May 2013 from 10am

Cross Country Schooling with BE Accredited Coach David Gatherer.

A fantastic opportunity to school over the fantastic cross country fences, designed by Jamie Innes and Ian Stark, at Floors Castle.

£40 per horse - Must be pre-booked.

Gardening Workshop - Planning & Maintaining Your Garden

10th July 2013 11am - 4pm

Join Head Gardener, Andrew Simmons, for a full day’s workshop looking at the planning and maintenance of herbaceous borders. The morning session will be an illustrated review of the borders followed by a delicious lunch prepared in the Castle Kitchen. After lunch, Andrew and his team will take you through the practical techniques needed to maintain the gardens at Floors, including: summer pruning, deadheading and taking cuttings.

Gardening Workshop - Twenty Most Useful Plants

7th August 2013 11am - 4pm

Join Head Gardener, Andrew Simmons, on a fascinating workshop looking at the twenty best plants grown at Floors Castle - as chosen by Andrew and his team. Andrew will look at the plants’ uses within the Castle gardens and the practical applications of growing them yourself.

Massed Pipe Band Day

Sunday 25th August 2013

Massed pipes and drums, highland dancing, falconry, garden games and much more.
