Floors Castle Horse Trials is a fantastic event that only suceeds due to the enthusiasm and hard work of everyone who kindly volunteers their time.
Volunteering at a Floors Horse Trials is a fantastic way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, meet new people and experience eventing close-up. You don't even have to know anything about eventing before you start!
We especially welcome any BE riders who would like to volunteer their time for their local event.
You can volunteer for half a day or full day.
Cross Country Jump Judging
This job is usually done in pairs and sometimes even in teams. Positioned at the fence you record each rider over the fence and deal with any immediate problems that arise. You will be given a full brief from the BE Technical Adviser and the BE Steward explaining the relevant rules, how to fill in the XC jumping faults report, the flags and stopping procedures and things to watch out for. Don't worry if you haven't done it before, you can still help! You are in constant contact with the organisers and ground crew so will always have support close at hand.
You will be provided with drinks and refreshments.
