A rejuvenated Massed Pipe Band day out for the whole
Now a well-established tradition, the Massed Pipe Bands Day was
initiated by the present Duke’s father who recognised in the spectacular
setting of the Castle the most evocative backdrop for an event of this nature.
Featuring over 140 pipes and drums from across the
Scottish Borders and the Lothians together with Highland Dancers, a Ceilidh Band, Birds of Prey, Bouncy
Castle, Tractor Tours, Garden Tours, Facepainting, Dog Agility and much
more, this year will be another great event.
day will also incorporate live cooking demonstrations from the award winning Chez Roux chef team from
the Roxburghe Hotel who will be in full creative culinary mode. In celebration of the VisitScotland Year of Food & Drink and with our two leading supporters, Giacopazzi's and Tempest Brewery, the addition of the food court will be a great new attraction for all.
Gates open from 11am and kicking off the day's proceeding's is the Erskine’s Regiment
who will perform a parade and a drill finishing with the firing of musket's. Beware any modern day invaders!
