Shooting - Pheasant, Grouse and Clay Pigeons at Roxburghe, Kelso
Clay PigeonThere is a automatic Clay Pigeon Shooting School within the grounds of the Roxburghe Hotel.
Pheasant
The season runs from the 1st October until 1st February for experienced guns for parties of 8. It is managed by our Head Gamekeeper, Michael Biggs, who has been with the estate for 25 years. His invaluable experience is second to none and he knows the woodlands like the back of his hand! A hearty lunch is served in the Castle State Dining Room.
Grouse
The season is from the 12th August until 10th December each year for experienced guns, for parties of 8. The two grouse moors, Rawburn and Byrecluegh, are the most exclusive in Scotland, being the most consistent and prolific. Lunch is served with a warming dram or two in a rustic hut surrounded by rugged moorlands.
