Owned by the Duke of Roxburghe, the hotel nestles privately amongst woodlands on the banks of the River Teviot. Many of the 22 bedrooms have all been individually designed by the Duchess herself, some of which have four poster beds and log fires.

The Scottish Borders is renowned for the quality of its fish, meat and game and this local produce is used to good effect by the award winning Chef Alasdair Stewart. The hotel has a fine choice of wines with a selection from the Duke's own cellar, to compliment the high standard of food.

Roxburghe Golf Course

The Championshipn Roxburghe Golf Course lies adjacent to the hotel. Home to the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open for 5 years, the course has been selected to host the prestigious 2008 Amateur Boys championship inaugurated by two members of the Royal Ascot Golf Club in 1921 . It is the 5th top inland course in Scotland, designed by Dave Thomas and fast becoming well recognised around the world. The course record is 66, held by Sergio Garcia. Colin Montgomerie maintains "It's a perfect course for professionals and amateurs".

The Roxburghe is not just about golf, it is part of a working country estate that offers some of the best salmon fishing which can be found on the two much sought after beats of the River Tweed, Upper and Lower Floors.

Other leisure activities include shooting for pheasant, partridge and grouse, clay pigeon shooting offering competitions and tuition, fly-fishing (the hotel has its own trout pond), mountain biking, croquet and the Health and Beauty Suite. The hotel will also organise visits to the Duke's home, Floors Castle in the summer months.
