Pheasant and Grouse Shooting

Pheasant

Pheasant shooting takes place in the parkland and woodland around Floors Castle and along the banks of the famous River Tweed, providing some very high and testing birds in a truly stunning setting.  Days ranging from 200-350 birds can be organised and parties are treated to lunch in the castle, prepared by the family's private chef.

Days for parties numbering up to ten guns can be provided for with accommodation at the Roxburghe Hotel.

Grouse

The Roxburghe moors of Byrecleugh and Rawburn are situated in the heart of the Lammermuir Hills and have been in the Duke's family since the 1500s.  Covering over 10,000 acres, both moors are amongst the most productive and consistent in Scotland and offer a range of topography that produces fast, sporting birds to test even the best of shots.

This season we shot over 3,600 brace which is the best year on record.  Next year we are planning a full programme of days and still have a few left to let.  Days for teams of eight or nine guns can be provided with accommodation at the Roxburghe Hotel.
