Floors Castle Terrace Café is proving popular this year with staff reporting record sales and footfall. Serving lunches, teas and coffees in the walled garden of Floors Castle, the Café has seen an increase in sales of over 25% in 2013, as well as having won an award for its homemade shortbread. Manager Doreen Ford puts the success down to a combination of staff training, recent improvements and in the sheer quality of food on offer.
Manager, Doreen Ford comments:”Tea on the terrace overlooking the walled garden is a special event for our visitors and we have a seen a year on year increase in sales both for eat-in and products that visitors can take away, such as home baked biscuits, pies and chutneys. We know the quality of offering combined with a strong focus on customer service has really given us the edge. This year has also seen the team’s efforts nationally recognised with our homemade shortbread receiving a star-rating from the Great Taste Awards.”
Head Chef Chris Percy Davis and his team bake all cakes and breads from scratch in accordance with traditional methods and use local and estate ingredients wherever possible. With a focus on quality and presentation and with menus changing regularly, the Café is a favourite among the many visitors to the Castle each summer.
The Terrace Café along with the Courtyard Restaurant provides seasonal catering within the visitor experience of Floors Castle open from Easter to October each year.
