Plants are at the heart of what we do and we live and breathe gardens, plants and produce.
In fact Neil our Manager is so passionate about plants that when he finishes working with our plants here, he often heads off to his allotment!
In short we love plants, and creating beautiful gardens, like the one here at Floors Castle in the walled garden.
We are proud to grow many of the more unusual of the plants in our own nursery here at Floors Castle. These plants, labelled as "Castle Grown", are often produced in small batches from cuttings and divisions of the parent plants growing in the stunning herbaceous borders in the walled garden. Many of our "Castle Grown" plants are either rare, unusual or hard to source from other nurseries and garden centres.
We love roses and in particular we love David Austin roses; which is why we stock the widest range of David Austin Roses in Scotland.
We also stock everything you need to make your rose garden bloom from Root Grow to help your new rose bushes establish well, through to rose feed, Felco secateurs and Gold Leaf gloves for pruning time.
The herbaceous borders at Floors Castle are some of the finest in the whole of the UK. From the regal silver and blue border through the fiery reds of the hot border they simply take your breath away.
Nestled amidst the herbaceous borders, Floors Castle Plant Centre offers the largest selection of these wonderful plants in the whole of Scotland.
We stock a wide range of both flower and vegetable seeds, along with propagation equipment, such as seed trays, propagators, seedling compost, labels and of course watering cans.
Visitors to Floors Castle cannot fail to be impressed by the displays of houseplants in the public rooms. Most popular of all are the incredible Streptocarpus.
At Floors Castle Plant Centre we stock a range of houseplants so you can create your own display like those in the Castle, including Streptocarpus, of course. These plants are grown here in the glasshouses in the walled garden and by Chelsea Gold Medals winners Dibleys Nurseries.
If you are looking for larger quantities than we normally stock, we are always happy to order in larger quantities and will even deliver them to our your door.
Please ask one of the team for details.
We are so confident in the quality of all of our hardy plants that we offer a 10-year guarantee.
Please keep your till receipt as proof of purchase and we will be happy to replace any hardy plant that fails in the next ten years.
Our guarantee, which is in addition to your statutory rights, defines "hardy plants" as including roses, herbaceous perennials, alpines, fruit, conifers, heathers, rhododendrons, azaleas, trees and shrubs that are able to withstand the average border winter weather conditions.
Sadly we cannot include plants that are not hardy to the Scottish Borders in our guarantee, as these rely on the skill of the gardener to see them through the winter, or require a heated greenhouse to ensure a frost-free environment.
If you are unsure whether a plant is guaranteed to survive in your garden over winter and be included in our 10-year guarantee then please pop in and have a chat or drop us an email.
We are delighted to be able to offer a delivery service to all of the towns and villages within a 20-mile radius of the Plant Centre. Just ask one of the team for further details and costs.
