The Roxburghe Estates delivers significant value to local communities. Creating and maintaining employment, facilitating private enterprise, promoting renewable energy development, supporting sustainable rural communities and a vibrant agricultural sector together with enhancing collaboration and communication with local communities are integral to our vision, to our values and to our objectives.
Benefits to local communities are delivered in many different ways. Facilities for recreation and community use are made available. Recently land on the edge of Kelso has been provided for new allotments. The local angling association has access to salmon fishing on a stretch of the river Teviot. Sprouston village has land for a community garden. The Kelso cycling club has access to woodland for off-road trails. These are just some examples of ways in which the Roxburghe Estates contributes to the development of the community.
For further information of the ways in which the Roxburghe Estates aims to deliver lasting contributions to the communities of which it is part please read the recent submission to the Land Reform Review Group.
